Located north of Durango in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, nestled among the northern Hermosa Cliffs, this home has everything you could want at your doorstep. This mountain townhome offers plenty of room with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, heated mudroom, laundry, and front and back porches to soak up the fresh mountain air. Recently remodeled in May 2022 (new photos coming end of May), this home now features new countertops, floors and fixtures, plus more seating in the dining area. On the main floor you'll find The Cave bedroom with a queen sized bed and plenty of storage and hanging space for all of your mountain gear. Located at the front of the house, this room stays darker than the rest and is perfect for a night owl who likes to sleep in. The living room has a new smart TV, custom rock fireplace with pellet stove to warm the entire house, and windows that open up to hear Elbert Creek. If you like to cook you'll find everything you need in the fully stocked kitchen that opens up to the living room, dining room, and back deck. The attached porch overlooks a meadow that Elbert Creek flows through, perfect for relaxing while soaking in the views and fresh mountain air. Upstairs you'll find the Spa Retreat and Treehouse bedrooms, both with en-suite baths. The Spa Retreat (master bedroom) offers a king sized bed with an attached porch that overlooks the beautiful northern Hermosa Cliffs. The newly remodeled bathroom with skylight has heated floors perfect for those chilly mornings and your own personal heated jacuzzi tub that will help you relax and unwind after a day of mountain adventures. The Treehouse room is perfect for kids or kids at heart. The Treehouse has a window seat that opens to hear the calming waters of Elbert Creek and a full over full bunk bed with a twin trundle. The room has plenty of toys, books, coloring, and games to keep the kids occupied when it's time to unwind. There is a new ping pong table in the garage which is lots of fun. Whether you enjoy outdoor adventures or scenic drives, this home is the perfect place to unwind, unplug, and relax. This home is dog friendly. Here are a few of the adventures that await you at the Elbert Creek Cottage: Elbert Creek Trail - Walk out the front door for a scenic hike up Elbert Creek Trail to explore the Hermosa Cliffs. The trail head is located across the street on the south side of the Needles Country Store. Hiking not your thing? No worries, the trail is open to bikes and horses too. Kid friendly hikes - Engineer Mountain, Spud Lake, Cascade Creek are all located within a short 10-15 minute drive. Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort - Just a short 2.5 mile drive north where you'll find yourself enjoying the year round mountain activities, with fun for all ages. Million Dollar Highway - Enjoy the beautiful views on the world famous Million Dollar Highway that takes you through Silverton and Ouray, known as the Swiss Alps of America. Silverton is only a 25 mile drive north from our townhome and Ouray is 47 miles. The drive is amazing year round, but Autumn is a favorite time of year to enjoy all the fall colors.
